August 2005

Laurianne was amazing during Miss New York and represented Oswego County well.  She especially enjoyed the company during the week of Miss Lewis County Mealeah Tabolt, Miss Forest Queen Alicia Bradley and Miss Seven Valleys Morgan Moholick.  She was named a Top Ten Finalist and on Saturday brought the audience to wild applause with her rendition of “Dizzy Fingers”.  We are all proud of her!

Congratulations go out as well to the new Miss New York, Kandace Pelletier.

We are now in the planning stages for Miss Oswego County 2006.  We will crown the new Miss Oswego County on Saturday November 12 at the Mexico High School.

We are planning our inaugural Oswego County Outstanding Teen competition.  Look for details on our site.

Miss America has signed a television contract.  The national competition will take place in January of 2006 and will be aired on CMT.  In addition, supportive programming will be aired on VH1 and MTV.  We will inform all of details when they become available.

In recent news, Malia Small, Miss Oswego County 1999 was married in June.  We wish the new Mr. & Mrs. Roberts our best wishes.  In addition, Danielle DeGone, was married this August.  Best wishes go to the new Mr. & Mrs. Holliday.  In June, Amal Mubarak, Caitlyn Ostrowski and Ashley Johnson received their high school diplomas.  Next up for them is college in the fall.  Jessica Dawson appeared in Syracuse in the play “Noises Off”.  The show is very funny (I did it when I was in college) and should be well worth seeing.

Best of luck to the newly crowned titleholders for next years Miss New York:  Stacy Walton Miss Lewis County, Christina Edwards Miss Thousand Islands (and former Miss Oswego County competitor), Mealeah Tabolt Miss Forest Queen and Kristin Letiere Miss AIS.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
